JENNY'S STORY

Jenny Johnson Christiansen is a lifelong resident of Ivins and a passionate advocate for her community. She grew up here, raised her five daughters here, and now enjoys watching some of her eleven grandchildren thrive in the same beautiful city she’s always called home. Jenny recently married her high school sweetheart, Scott Christiansen, and together they’re continuing a life in Ivins filled with service, dedication, and love for the place they call home.

Over the past 35+ years, Jenny has dedicated herself to making a difference in Ivins. She’s served on PTA boards, volunteered as a teacher’s aide at Red Mountain Elementary, and helped preserve local history as a member of the Ivins Historical Society. She co-founded Ivins Heritage Days and created the Mini Miss Pageant, which she still directs today. Jenny also served as a certified volunteer firefighter for 25 years and was elected to the Ivins City Council, where she served two full terms. Her family even hosted a free haunted house for the community for 12 years—three of which were officially sponsored by Ivins Parks & Recreation.

In addition to her civic service, Jenny leads an active lifestyle and enjoys spending time outdoors. Whether it’s hiking, biking, camping, fishing, or working in her yard, she finds joy in the natural beauty that surrounds Ivins. You can also find her cheering on her grandchildren at their school events, attending community functions, or simply playing with the grandkids she adores.

Jenny is running for Ivins City Council because she believes in protecting what makes this city special. She played a key role in the community survey that helped shape the current Ivins General Plan and continues to advocate for thoughtful growth, water conservation, and responsible planning. With the time, experience, and heart to serve, Jenny is ready to continue the work of balancing growth and preserving home—for all of Ivins.
