For more than three decades, Jenny Johnson Christiansen has been deeply involved in nearly every corner of Ivins civic life.

Jenny co-founded Ivins Heritage Days and has been an active committee member since its creation. Every year, she works behind the scenes to bring the event to life—celebrating local history, fostering community pride, and creating traditions that families look forward to year after year.

📸 PTA Boards

As a mother of five, Jenny dedicated many years to serving on PTA boards volunteering her time in Ivins schools. She worked closely with teachers, staff, and parents to support students, organize school events, and advocate for the needs of families and educators in the community.

📸 Volunteer Firefighter

Jenny served as a certified volunteer firefighter for over 25 years with the Ivins/Santa Clara Fire Department. She responded to emergencies, supported training efforts, and played an important role in keeping the community safe—all while balancing work, family, and civic service.

📸 Ivins City Council

Jenny proudly served on the Ivins City Council for eight years, where she worked directly on key issues affecting residents—from development and infrastructure to conservation and community engagement. Her experience and integrity helped shape decisions with long-term impact.

📸 Crossing Guard

Today, Jenny continues her hands-on service as a crossing guard at Red Mountain Elementary. Rain or shine, she helps children arrive at school safely each morning, showing her dedication to even the smallest moments of community care.

Jenny is well-known around town for helping residents at the city dumpsters during monthly cleanup events. She shows up with a smile, lends a hand, and reminds everyone that even the “unseen” parts of community service matter just as much.

📸 Mini Miss Ivins Pageant

Jenny founded the Mini Miss Pageant as part of Ivins Heritage Days to help young girls build confidence, public speaking skills, and community spirit. As the current Pageant Director, she continues to mentor participants and create an uplifting, supportive event for local families.

Jenny and her family ran a free haunted house for the Ivins community for 12 years—three of which were hosted by Ivins Parks & Recreation at Heritage Park Pavilion. This annual event brought families together in the spirit of fun, creativity, and Halloween excitement, all at no cost to the community.

For many years, Jenny volunteered as a classroom aide at Red Mountain Elementary, assisting teachers with daily activities, helping students one-on-one, and creating a warm, supportive learning environment. Her presence made a lasting impact on both students and staff.

Jenny’s hands-on service reflects her belief that strong communities are built through connection, consistency, and care.
